Oregon Sunstone and diamond bezel ring in sterling

Did you know that Tiffany and Co had purchased claims in the Plush Oregon area back in the late 1800's? They wanted to market what they called "Plush Diamonds" but because Oregon Sunstones are each so unique,  they found it difficult to mass produce jewelry that all had the same look like a diamond.  This, along with the logistical difficulties in getting the ore out and managing things from New York, made them leave the area in the first half of the 20th century. Since 1987, this has been the states official gemstone. 
This ring is a US size 7. The band is tapered from 1.2mm to 2mm. Stone is 4mm with 1.2mm diamonds on each side.
